The
following is a synopsis of the book "From Madam to Miracle", soon
to be available.
- How can she have
so much, yet feel so empty? After all, she was dressed to the
nines, from the tips of her stiletto's to her sequin designer
dress. The limousine driver slipped into his seat as he asked
"Where to tonight"? "Doesn't matter" she shrugged, "One place
is as good as the next, I suppose. Anywhere I can get a drink.
Take me to the Copa." The limo pulls up to the popular night
spot, a usual haunt for most of the girls. The crowd cued for
admission, parts to make way, as she climbs out from the car
and wordlessly enters the club.
Kimberley's story began with her childhood in a two bedroom
green and white rundown house, filled with fear and trepidation.
Many spirits occupied their home. From alcoholism, suicide and
violence to abuse. This journey would take her down a path of
darkness few have lived to tell about. Her constant search for
control in a life totally out of control, led her to build a
street empire over which she could rule. Organized crime, political
corruption, prostitution, drugs and her ever elusive search
for normalcy, dominated her existence.
The brutal murder of a close friend, along with on going pressure
from the "powers at be", prompted Kimberley to question her
lifestyle. A lifestyle on a down hill spiral which would lead
to incarceration or even death, Kimberley abandons her self
made empire in search of the proverbial white picket fence.
But around the bend, life had cards that had not yet been dealt;
battles yet to be fought. Kimberley's second chance at life
was short lived as she was diagnosed with terminal cancer at
the age of 27. The first to try a radical experimental treatment
Kimberley found herself 24 hours from death. Realizing that
without a miracle she had no hope for survival, Kimberley cried
out to God, asking him to help her. She realized that this was
one fight she could not win alone. She is the only survivor
of that experiment which has since been discontinued.
To be reborn into newness of life, means that one must embrace
and live that life. How can she find her way home; find purpose
and fulfillment for her life, with all of the haunting memories
of her past? How does one stop the past and all its failures
from becoming the future? These and other questions are answered
as Kimberley travels a new road. One of healing, learning and
faith, as she gives control to the one who can truly make beauty,
from the ashes of her life. One who can take all of the pain
and failure of her past and use it, to bring glory to the truth
and the freedom it brings.
Kimberley begins to live her life with a zeal she has never
before experienced. As a ministry begins to develop and demand
more of her time, Kimberley studies and becomes a full time
Itinerant Speaker. Soon a record deal and concert appearances
follow. Tours are planned but soon the business of ministry
begins to take center stage. Her heart's desire to reach the
lost in the inner cities of our country, becomes a constant
choice that must be made. She must remind herself as well as
her team, that "We are not called to be famous, but rather to
be faithful."
Kimberley finally finds her home. A place where she can feel
comfortable, accepted and loved. But more important, a place
where she can make a difference. "Home is where the heart is"
and the more Kimberley allows the heart of God to take His place
in her life, the more her heart is with those "living the life".
The prostitute, the drug user, the convict and the alcoholic;
the victim and the abuser, the runaway and the grieving parent.
Kimberley's heart is with the lost!
This story encourages and challenges millions as Kimberley is
now one of North America's most sought after speakers and concert
performers. From her CD's, Testimonial Video, Music Video's
and tapes to the Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Festivals, Radio
and Television appearances, her story of hope has been embraced.
Despite the fact that a made for TV movie is in development
and the eventual publication of this book inevitable, Kimberley's
focus remains with the Inner Cities as she tours 10 months per
year working midweek in co-operation with inner city ministries,
prisons, high schools and substance abuse centers. She is also
opening a Youth Center in Penticton British Columbia where she
currently resides.
We believe the publication of this book is timely; our culture
is hungry for stories which feed the spirit. Kimberley convinces
the reader, "Where there is life, there is Hope". "You can begin
again"!
